Today I want to wear this,
This piece is also made from second hand Oilily clothes and fabric. like the trousers, I made a stitchery as well from this one. Maybe I'll make a little blanket when all the stitcheries are finished.
If anyone would be interested, I could perhaps sell the patterns. Well, we'll think about that.
There are a lot of places you can inspired, by other bloggers, Flickr, other cultures etc.. Today I'll show a bit of my own inspiration. It's a great old book from 1947,
It's about old wind mills and Dutch traditional clothing. The book has these beautiful old coloured glued pictures. Look for yourself,
I hope you enjoy looking at them s much as I do.. and yes there ar a lot of these in the book to but I'll only show you this one,

ReplyDeleteWhen I first opened your blog and saw the picture of the skating dress, I immediately thought "Oilily". Then I read your words! This is really the cutes thing. I bet you could sell patterns for it.
ReplyDeleteHey!.. I think I have some fabric that looks just like the little girl's cover/apron in that book.. the red and white plaid one. SO adorable. This is my very favorite era. And I think I could stare at those windmill pictures all day. I wish I lived in a wind mill. :-)
But only if it were made to be a house, not an actual mill!

ReplyDeleteThe windmills are something that I always connect to your country. What you learned in school, also the tulips and the wooden clogs. Now I also think of you and your sister and Oilily (and of course I know a little bit more about your country) :)

ReplyDeleteDat boek is leuk!! Ja jouw creaties natuurlijk ook hoor! Ik denk dat ze bij Oilily dat boek ook kennen, weet je nog dat ze een paar jaar geleden allemaal van die klederdracht geinspireerde stoffen en zeepdozen hadden? Ehem paar jaar? Ik bedenk me nu dat mijn dochter zo'n babyjurkje had (hebben we natuurlijk nog) en die wordt 15 dit jaar!

Nou, wat is de klederdracht er op een tiental jaren anders gaan uitzien! Gelukkig maar voor mij, want hoewel ik nu wel rokken draag, ben ik altijd een broeken-meid geweest!
