A girls trip to London and new bag,

Just finished this new bag,



I'm pleased with the result, and love the warmth of the colors and look of the bag.



The checked fabric and the wide band are also doing well together, don't you think?

A GIRLS TRIP TO LONDON,

Yes, my daughter and me are going to Londen for a few days in October, just the two of us, the girls in the house!



It was her idea to ask this as a gift for het 14th birthday.. she's saving money for this trip to do a lot of shopping. (me too of course)

We booked our flight but have to book our hotel or BB.

If any of you have great London ideas for us, it can be anything, a nice BB or hotel, lovely shops, vintage shops, places to lunch, etc....

We'll love it and be greatful!

Strolling in the second hand shop,

This morning I went to the second hand store to find a new china bowl. I love to use them in the garden and this one was broken.. (frozen)



I did not find any nice china
but,
I did find some stitchery..



This cute kids bell pull.

Christmas inspiration,

Every year I want to make a new chrismas ornament,
a few years ago I made these,



But these last two years I somehow didn't. Maybe to busy with other creativities...
But now I signed in for the Christmas ornament swap (see the sidebar) and I want to be full inspired with new ideas!



So I searched all Marie-claire christmas editions and put them on the kitchentable!
And if that's not enough I also bought the new country home.



I already spotted this nice page with cards,



Guess I'll be moving around the kitchen table today..
And get Christmas inspiration!

Windmill block,

This block has been laying around here and there in my crafting area waiting to become a pillow or a quilt or... I don't know what.

Until yesterday

When I just knew the right perpose for this block,

A new Dutch windmill bag!



I searched all the fabrics and locked myself up in the my crafting room and started sewing. This the result.




Do you like it?

Wel I can't stay in my craftingroom so now it's time to focus on the household and family area... it is weekend after all!

And do not want to have grumpy people around me.

More houses,

Yes, now I really am in real estate,



In this street I put up two houses for sale,



One with lovely blue frames and a sweet front garden with pink flowers.



And the one with the dark purple frames, the lovely garden with red flowers and a small blue postbox!

So if you are in search of a new home.... come and visit my street!

Puzzling....

I was just puzzling around with these fabrics and embroidered Dutch windmill



Now I'm just doing a bit of sewing,



But I'm still not sure what exactly I'm going to make....
Who know's I might get inspired tomorrow while we visit Dordrecht.

New birds

On my last car boot sale visite I found these lovely birds,



I'm not planning to hang them in the house, no I want to use them for a new project.
Don't know what project that will be... maybe something like this,



Anyway, I have to undo the stitchery from its frame...



Oh no, do I see old glue??



Luckely it has been glued only on the back, the stitchery is perfect!



I love the natural print on the cardboard.

Our youngest has also some new birds. No not found at the car boot sale.
He had his mind set on a specific breed,



They are called 'Dubbelgezoomde Barnevelderkippen'. I do not know how to translate this for you... maybe something like, 'Double seamed barnevelder chicken'!
They are getting a bit accustumed in their new home, but look at me like I'm an alien.

Look who's back in our garden again,



Haven't seen him a few months but I hope he'll stay for the winter!

Well I'm off now, 'naar buiten waar de vogeltjes fluiten,
listning to the little birds outside!

Treasures,

Time to show a few treasures,
Today I found a beautiful old perfect 'stoplapje', I don't know the English word for it. Girls and women made these, to practice special stitches for repairing clothes and linnen.



It is only 15 cm big and made with extreme small stitches.



I really love it!
Another treasure are these Dutch plates with drawings off folk clothes.



There are also cups and plates... Hope I can show them another time.

Embridered bag(s) and first carbootsale!

When I was on my way to the store where they sell band and ribbon, I found a little thriftshop and found this new wonderfull painting,



Then I quickly bought the band I needed and hurried home. I was all inspired by this new painting! At home made this combination of fabrics and band,



And now I have two finished bags with a embroidered front!





I think they both turned out real nice!

This Morning I was at my first car boot sale!
The weather was drizzly so a lot of people kept their goodies in the car.
But I did find this,



lovely dutch puzzle from Rie Cramer.



And I found these lovely embroidered birds



I'm not sure what to do with them.... but that's ok.
