Sewing

I don't want to make my blog into a 'cat blog' .. but our kitten 'bear' discovered a new area in the house...

My sewing room!!

Perhaps he has creative aspirations...
I'll let you know...
until now he makes a lot of rubbish from all ribbons and bands!

Meanwhile I almost finished my apron for the apron swap!

Skirts,

A few posts ago I showed you this lovely book of skirts,

028

That my sister gave me.

Well I finally found a cute (curtain)fabric to make a skirt for myself!

010

Show you the whole skirt when it is finished. (and when it looks good...)
Talking about a skirt,
Look at this cute old Dutch costume doll and her enormous skirt,

007

Found her, yesterday, in the thriftstore.

004

I know it is not decent to look under a womens skirt... but

029

I think she doesn't mind.

'ding - dong' the doorbell.........................

The postman just brought me a parcel all the way from Mexico!

019

It's from one of my swap partners! RosaMaria!
(I have two lovely swap partners)

So I say 'groetjes' for now, I am off to open this swapparcel!
Yes of course I'll make pictures to show you later.

March, Maart

A new month, 'March' = 'Maart' in Dutch.

This month spring will start!!
Today the sun was shining a little.. and ooh it felt so good!
And this month we finish and send all our swap envelopes with the fath quarters and a gift!

Dutch sisters swap

Of course there is also a new page on my Dutch costume calander,

007

Old Dutch costumes of this month are from Volendam, a characteristic Dutch fishing village in the province Noord Holland.

016

This how the clothes were around 1850 in Volendam.

010

And here you see them around 1950.
There has almost been no change.
These days everyone walks around in regular clothes.
Only a few people where typical clothes from Volendam, Maybe some for the toerists.

Now I do have to show you my monthly tree picture... Hope to do that on wednesday!

Until then
Groetjes,
