I wanted to show a finished romantic messengerbag



... but I wasn't able to get myself to the big city, to buy band and finish the bag! Meanwhile I mannaged to make this new bag,



But today I'll go to the big city and look for band... and who knows I might walk into some lovely other things... fabric maybe..

Great summer cake

Every year we have a feast in our neighbourhood. This year, it was yesterday, on the fourth of juli and the theme was 'American party'! With American sports, games, music, and a cake/pie contest.
This was my contribution to the contest,



A chocolate cake filled with cream and strawberries, a layer of raspberry jam and topped with pure chocolate with blueberries. It was a yummie contest, we could taste all 18 different cakes! (little pieces ofcourse)

The ultimate quilting time,

Today it suddenly was there, the ultimate quilting time.
Dh. took the youngest two to the swimmingpool, the oldest was out. So I nested myself on an easy ouside bench with a quilt to finish,



Soft music, a glass of cool white wine, feet up, nice temperature...
The ultimate quilting time!

Four weeks

Although we are longing for the summer vacation the kids in our class still make the most beautifull artworks,







Only four more weeks to go!

Mini quilt swap,

The postman came just before I left to school. And although I was in a hurry, I could not resist waiting to open it... and yes my miniquilt arrived!
Isn't it lovely!!



Sara made it. I love the detaills with the little beats.Thank you Sara!



She also spoiled me with a little quilt pin and a lovely card. And talking about spoiling... after an extreme bussy school anniversary week, I spoiled myself with the new Flow magazine.



Now, I hope to take some time here and there next week, to finish a new Dutch fabric quilt for the shop.

Vacation quilt project

Altough we have school until the 24th of juli this year, I did start a vacation quilt. I'm making a Dutch square quilt, nine patches sewed by hand.



It'll be easy to take with me when we travel trough France and Spain.
I'm not sure how to finish the quilt, it can be like this,



So you'll see more of this project in time.

I'm participating a 'purples fabric' quilt tree and I received my first two fabrics from Jacoline yesterday.



I'm curious how this wil turn out? and where all the purple fabric pieces will come from. Now I'm off sending my own purple fabrics to next quilting tree ladies and in search for new participants!

After rain comes......

When I visited my mom we had some firm rain showers, and I could not resist taking these pictures..
