Rood met witte stippen...

My Ria brought these shoes for me from Spain,



They are a gift for little Luca when she turns two. Luckely it'll take 9 months before that happens, so I can look at them for a long time!

It seems these are the polka dot days here and at school, have a look,



Polka dots on the table. (Today I hope to finish this quilt, so it stays on the kitchen table and every free minute can be spend useful.)

Well, I'm of now to do a few more stitches on the quilt, before my son is home for lunch.

Thrift shopping,

Oh how time passes by so quickly! before you know another week has started.

This mornig we went thriftshopping and found this,



And a lovely book from 1957 with all kind of nice carpenter ideas,



(I don't think anyone is ever going to make a thing, but I love the 50s pictures!)



And who is making all thes lovely ideas...



Yes the handy father while smoking a pipe!

And since I'm not a carpenter I'll stick to do some quilting

Rainy day

It's a rainy day, ideal sewing time!
I managed to finish the quilttop,



And between the rain periods I was able to take a few pictures.



Now I need to find fabric for the back,
think I'll go shopping at my mom's attic...so I can spend rainy evenings sitting in an easy chair, near the woodstove, and quilt!

Sewing, blogging again

Yes I'm blogging again. This last week it seemed I couldn't get near my laptop. I don't know mabye it had something to do with my pfaffie being away. Anyway I have some catching up to do and read all your beautifull posts from last week,



But Pfaffie is back from the treatment disturbs and ready to get started!!
First there were a few repearing jobs to do... before we can start with these quilt fabrics I got from Elizabeth



I'm using all 30s fabrics in this quilt.



I did take the liberty to change the pattern a bit, that came with it.
Now I cant wait to get this quilt finished, it will look so cheerful in our kitchen!

Oke, I'm off now, to sew this new quilt.. or.. no.. and to catch up reading blogs!
Guess I need more hours in a day!

Hidden treasure

Can't show any new sewing.... my Pfaffie is out to a treatment disturbs That was promissed and verry necessary.
So instead I thought it's time to show you a hidden treasure.
The sweetest doll ever made,



The doll is made by Elisabeth Pongratz
She has a sweet wooden head and a soft body.



Her little crochet hat and the sweet knitted socks and underpants are made by her grandmother,



I'm still saving to buy her a sweet sister or brother...
And until that time I cuddle and play with her every now and than..

Small things and a little bag

You know, I made these little ornaments,



Now they need to have something to put them in when they aren't hanging. So I made a little matching bag to put them in,



Actually I made 3 three little bags



Also made a bag with ornaments for the shop.

Enjoying Autumn

I had to do some shopping, and walked by a 'chocolatier'... I could not resist them,
they fit so perfect in te autumn season!
And now after a hard working day I enjoy my tea with new autumn chocolate!



Is there a better way to start the autumn season?

Yes of course, walking in the park!
I'll be doing that after eating (to much) chocolate....

Afterglowing,

This afternoon while I was afterglowing our great day in Dordrecht,

(thank you lili M. for all the great tips, we visited great thrift stores, the museum of Simon van Gijn and we tasted whine in the Voorstraat.)

and there's a quiltpattern that came along to!
Dear Elizabeth how did you know I love all these fabrics!!!
And they match so great in our home, especially in our kitchen with my crockery as you can see on the first picture. But also with these,

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you so much!! I love it, you really spoiled me!
I'll make a quilt to brighten up my kitchen!
Can't wait to get started!!
But just looking at the fabrics, makes me feel so happy!

I'll just keep on doing some afterglowing!

Puzzling....

I was just puzzling around with these fabrics and embroidered Dutch windmill



Now I'm just doing a bit of sewing,



But I'm still not sure what exactly I'm going to make....
Who know's I might get inspired tomorrow while we visit Dordrecht.

13 years old

What do girls do when turn 13????



They polish their toe nails and watch their legs grow,



They take a face mask, against their aging skin,



They watch 'new' movies,



They grow out of their clothes...
The advantage this time is that I can make new bags from her great vest!
