Sinterklaas kapoentje gooi wat in mijn schoentje or eat a yummie cookie GIVEAWAY!

Around half november 'Sinterklaas' arrives in our country on a big steamerboat with many 'Zwarte pieten'. They stay until the birthday of Sinterklaas on 5 december. It is a very special time and should not be confused with cristmas Santa.
We sing special songs while...

gooi wat in mijn schoentje

we put our shoe by the chimny and hope Sinterklaas will hear us, and put a present in our shoe when we sleep!

A long long time ago...

Or will visit us.. (like he visited me a long, long, long time ago)

It's a time in wich we drink a lot of hot chocolate and eat and make 'Speculaas koekjes' (gingerbread cookies?).

Speculaas koekjes

They are made in these special wooden cookie shapes,

And with special spices,

speculaas kruiden, gingerbread spices

Now if you also want something in your shoe???
Just put your shoe by the chimny and leave me a comment.
I'll be your Sinterklaas!

I'll announce the two winners on november 26 so till than come and take your shoe...

Angels and bag,

The little angels are finished and the weather is right. So I can take pictures outside,

Little angel

They wanted their long hair in two braids.

Little angel

So I did.

The bag I was working on last post is now almost finished,

bag, winterrose

I like how it turned out, also the inside.

inside winterrose bag

I call it 'Winterrose' and it only needs a band. A good reason to go to the city tonight and nose about in the fabric store.

Christmas inspiration,

Every year I want to make a new chrismas ornament,
a few years ago I made these,

christmas ornaments

But these last two years I somehow didn't. Maybe to busy with other creativities...
But now I signed in for the Christmas ornament swap (see the sidebar) and I want to be full inspired with new ideas!

New inspiration from older magazines

So I searched all Marie-claire christmas editions and put them on the kitchentable!
And if that's not enough I also bought the new country home.

new country Christmas homes

I already spotted this nice page with cards,

more inspiration

Guess I'll be moving around the kitchen table today..
And get Christmas inspiration!

What's in the small box?

Time for a new 'what's in the box'!

What's in a box

I have these 3 cute boxes and I want to show what's in the smallest one,

little punnik dolls

As a kid I loved to punnik (don't know if I say it right in English?)
The one with the brown thread on his head used to be mine.. I think.

Oh, am I dressed?

I love how they seem to talk to each other.
(lol, guess it doesn't make any sence at all)

A good day!

Yes, saterday was a real good day.

These lovely fabrics were brought by the postman,

new fabrics

I won these beautifull fabrics in the giveaway on Quilt it & dotty's blog!

new fabrics

Aren't they lovely? Thank you so much Dorry!

I have been in search for a 'grand foular' to cover an old chair.... or the other option... a new chair. (but in these tight financial times times I rather wanted the first option)

And yesterday I found this quilt and two pillows for a nice price,

new quilt and pillows

They are just what this cosy corner needed! I know, I can hear a lot of you thinking.. 'she should have made it herself' ... you are right ofcourse, But sometimes buying (and the quick result) can be satisfying.

And to make the atmosphere complete I bought new candle's and this plant

new plant

So yesterday evening, while we were all home, close by the fire, candle burning and drinking some hot coco, I was thinking 'This was a good day'!

Today we have a sunny sonday so another good day has started!

wish you all a good day too,

Kitchen table,

It sure is drippy wet and cold weather, a real autumn day!

Rainy day

So the ideal day, after 3 working days, to take a slow start... read the paper, do some stitchery and blogging.

On the kitchentable..

The best place for all this is the kitchentable! Hiep hiep hoera for the kitchentable!

Here are a few new houses, finished at the kitchentable.

New houses

Now I do hope it'll stop raining some time today.. do need to do some shopping and detach myself from the kitchen table.
