Visiting the Dutch province Zeeland

In the south-west of our country we have the province Zeeland. We visit this province every spring and enjoy the beach and the typical ‘Zeeuwse’ culture. I want to share with you a bit this lovely province and culture.

First there is the lovely beach!



Which is great to walk on, play and enjoy the sun!
Then there are the typical folk clothes the people used to wear here. (sometimes you still see them)



Proud women wearing their best costume,



And showing their beautifull necklaces.

There will be more Zeeuwse culture next time.

Only one more thing to show... This fabulous magazine (I know I showed it before.. but it is to great not to)



It is full of lovely pictures and little cards and this time also this gift wrapping paper!

Pink flower bag on the blog

This pink flowered fabric has been in my fabric stash a long time. Since it isn't cotton I could not use it for a quilt. But this weekend I used it for this sweet bag.



The detacheble brooch gives the bag the finishing thouch!

Enjoying spring

I guess spring is my favorite season....



Every year we make the daisy chains



and put them on the girls heads.



They give me the real spring feeling!

Just a post to wish you all a happy easter and to show you how the 'plop' in my head turned out.
Well here is the 'plop',

I think it turned out cheerfull.

And with these easter chicken made by the 4 and 5 year old in my class....

Spring... quilt

It's great to enjoy the sun in springtime! I think we appreciate this first sun more than any other time. It's like everything is more bright and colorful!



Like these tulips I got from Corry
And to go shop for new stuff like magazines and napkins at the Hema.



Told you I'm working on a quilt with embroidered parts. I found this tablecloth on a flea market,



And as you can see on the left side of this picture.. I cut out some flowers and sewed them in the quilt.



I think it's really going to be a spring quilt!
The only thing is that I'm not sure how to make the edges so I'll put it aside for a few days.. and hope an idea will 'plop' in my head.

And about 'plop's' in my head... I'm going to use this combination for the bag like the one with the Marken fabrics.

New terrace

Last tuesday when I came home (after a terrible meeting) from school, my dh was making a new terrace. We had a large sandbox in the garden but now our youngest is 10 and nobody seem to use it anymore.
Yesterday he finished the terrace...and I had seen this beautiful bench in the store..
So now here you see the new bench on the new terrace!



My dh is verry disappointed in the pictures.... 'it only shows the bench, you can't see annything of the terrace.'
I love the new bench and this old quilt hanging on it, and yes my dh I love the new terrace.

Today I started this quilt,



Hope it will turn out right.
